Today’s commerce is now being done a lightning fast pace thanks to the advancement in broadband technology, smartphones, and tablets. Let’s look at an example: Let’s say you are looking for floor scales for sale and do not have access to a local company that offers what you need. You can do a quick search online and find vendors like Floorscalesdirect.com at one of the top search positions in the results. You can now look at various resources on what types of scales are being offered and then compare costs and service with various vendors in a matter of just a few minutes. With more industrial type sales you will also want to look at customer feedback and make sure that the company has a contact number and what their service response time is. You will also want to make sure that if there are any issues how would you get service should you need repairs. Many companies that are selling online have created a twitter and facebook account that allows their customers to contact their company and get more timely feedback and answers to their questions.
In the example of the floor scales social networking sites allow customers to interact with each other while the company has an insight into what is what being said and done with their products. This is a great tool to enhance customer loyalty and response time and even large sales items like livestock scales can be sold and managed online. Many companies offer special discounts if you follow them on Facebook or Twitter and you allow them to mail you quarterly updates. This is one other attribute I would look for that a company is wanting to stay in contact with their customers and want to extend the relationship beyond just the sale. So no matter what you are looking to purchase or sell make sure that you are using the resources that are available online and get involved in their communities to help you stay on top of any changes and interact with other customers.

,

I was reading an interesting article today on the amount of technology that we as Americans throw away each year. In landfills, computers and technology gadgets like MP3 players,DVD players, and TV’s make up 71 % of the landfill. It is estimated that we throw away approximately 141 million gadgets each year and over 200 million various computer parts. This is a staggering amount when you think about the massive volume that these devices take up in our land fills and wonder how long can we sustain this habit. Many states are enacting laws and recycling centers where you can take old TV and computer parts and monitors for proper disposal. While this is one good way to help reduce the impact on the land fills and the environment there are others ways to help recycle your cell phones, laptops, and other electronic gadgets.

At various site you can log on and get paid to recycle your cell phone or old iPod. I was looking around our home and we have about 6 different cell phones that we no longer use and the kids are just using as play toys. We also have three different iPods and one original iPhone that by simply looking at gazelle.com there is money to be made by simply recycling our old tech gadgets through their site. The company was founded in 2006 and have already helped over 175K people recycle their old gadgets and get paid through various means like gift cards or paypal. Through their efforts they have helped to keep over 300 tons of e-waste out of the landfills. I would encourage our readers to check out gazelle.com and see for yourself on what you can do to help the environment.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of OgilvyInteractive for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have been using my new iPad 2 for a variety of business and personal tasks but the one area that I have become most interested is news collection apps. There are is a growing demand to have rich interactive content on the iPad to help users like myself stay in touch with current events, business updates, and social media happenings. I have tried several of the popular apps that are currently available and for the most they all do a nice job of aggregating news and subjects that you choose and present the latest sources of news for you to read. I love the fact that you can Tweet or Facebook about the content and share with your friends and colleagues.

That is why I was intrigued by the latest launch of a new app for updated news called the The Collection. Right now they have the updates on Prince William and the Royal Wedding in a very interactive way. They present the back story and ways to interact with the content in both 3D representation and great animation. I downloaded the app for free and was impressed with the selection and content and just how easy it was to really interact with the story.  I can see a great need for more rich content like this in more recent events. Like the storms that tore through the Southeast United States. You could click on the article and then be presented with animated stories, videos of the tornadoes, and pictures of the after math along with agencies you can donate too in order to help those that have been impacted. Using the The Collection you would be able to gather various news content and interactive media in one place instead of having to bounce around to several different apps.

One of the more promising things I have tried has been to submit articles to various websites. There are sites where you can find Free Articles that you can add your blog or website. These sites that will also take your 200 plus word article and make it available across their network so that people can bring that content onto their own web page. Now the benefit is that in the credit tags you place links back to your blog and this helps in search engine recognition and extra traffic. This will then lead to greater exposure and build your readership base. As always content is king and this is where you will separate your blog from others. One site that you may look to either submit your article too for great exposure or if you are looking for content  where they have over 90K authors and over 900K articles to choose from. If you use WordPress software then you can add in various plugins to help get your site indexed by Google and other major websites.

The use of a answering service where your customers can contact you directly
Your online website can offer a blog for a personal touch and a call center can help point your customers to the blog in order to find a FAQ or understand your products. The call center services will give your company and website a more personal touch.
