Up in the NW the deer and elk season will be starting soon which is a blessing for some and a curse for others. Local farmers are not particularly thrilled since they tend to get a lot of trespassers coming through fields chasing the deer and elk as they graze on the left over wheat and grasses from harvest. For elk you need a specific tag to be able go out and hunt so there are not as many legal hunters roaming around for this particular animal. The blessing for others is that this is a tradition every year to claim an elk tag and go out with their fathers and sons and pass on the ritual of hunting. At sites like Outdoor Base Camp you can join their hunting forum where you can share stories and learn about local and regional hunting spots.
This forum is great for those who are looking to take up hunting with their son for the first time because they offer a great resource to ask questions on what you might need. Plus with the ability to share across different parts of the state and nation you might uncover some helpful tricks that will help you be more successful in your outdoor hunting experience. Place where live offer both flatland and mountainous hunting grounds so being prepared for the different terrains can make your hunting season more productive and help you create lasting memories with your son.
