If haven’t read the news, Google will aquire YouTube for approx. $1.65 billion dollars. Not bad for a site that only started up 18 months ago. This shows that video content is a huge business for content and advertisers. The consumer is driving the internet machine and large organizations are trying to figure out how to maintain their presence in front of them. As these sites increase the exposure, more will likely spring up to try and get a share of that pie. I even saw on eBay someone selling the script that supposedly runs or mimicks YouTube.
The buzz about CGM (Consumer Generated Media) will continue to gain traction. There are a lot of companies looking to captialize on this through Search engines, blogging sites, and other consumer centric businesses.
